Description
This qualification reflects the role of entry level workers who provide services and interventions to clients with alcohol and other drugs issues and/or implement health promotion and community interventions. Work in undertaken in contexts such as community based organisations, withdrawal services, residential rehabilitation services and outreach services under the guidance of other practitioners and professionals, with limited responsibility and within established parameters.
Australian college of Christianity offer this qualification using a Mixed mode consisting of Classroom and Online.
Entry Requirements
To enter CHC43215 – Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, candidates should have a year 11 school certificate, its equivalent or maturity and appropriate life experience. It is recommended that candidates have relevant experience to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving:
- The self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in some areas
- The exercise of independent judgement and decision-making
- The application of relevant technical and other skills.

Pathways
The primary pathway from this qualification is into the Community Workers Industry. Students may also undertake further studies in Mental Health like Diploma of mental Health or in counselling by undertaking qualifications such as Diploma of Counselling and Graduate Diploma of Relationship Counselling.
