They work or volunteer at community-based sport clubs and organisations in the Australian sport industry.
Individuals with this qualification are involved in the self-directed application of knowledge and skills, and the provision of leadership and support to colleagues. They work autonomously and coordinate and supervise others.
Possible job titles include:
- High performance coach
- Sport development manager
- Talent manager.
Specific industry accreditation requirements may apply to sport-specific coaching accreditation and information should be obtained from the relevant National Sporting Organisation (NSO).
Entry Requirements
To enter SIS50321 – Diploma of Sport, candidates should have a year 12 school certificate, its equivalent or maturity and appropriate life experience. It is recommended that candidates have relevant experience to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving:
- The self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in some areas
- The exercise of independent judgement and decision-making
- The application of relevant technical and other skills.

The primary pathway from this qualification is into the Sport Industry. Students may also undertake further studies in Sport as like Bachelor of Sport management in Australian University.
